Its official, the half term break is over :( I love the holidays.
True to say its a juggling act from start to finish with plenty of my work being done during the evening or squashed up on one end of the dining table while the children are being creative on the other end of it!
Just the way I like it tbh! Thanks for a great week guys, Ive thoroughly enjoyed your company. Weve had a fab mix of days out, days in and lots of fun. . . . and . . . . . . especially thank you for no arguments!! Roll on Christmas hols I say :)
LOTS of work to be done before then mind you! Our Christmas rush has well and truely begun. Its our 3rd Christmas at Poppyseed Crafts and I remember well the extreme chaos that was November last year! I am ready to do it all again though, so come on November - Lets be having you!!
It been all about the clocks this year and the Christmas rush is proving no exception . . . . our two best sellers appear to be battling it out to be top clock! They really do make a great gift. Personalised too so its extra special :)
The flower/butterfly Clock has been narrowly leading for most of the year, BUT over night Polka dot Flower has been VERY popular so as we approach November. . . . its all to play for :) Which is YOUR favourite?
Wishing you all a very happy weekend. XXXX

Yay its Royal Wedding Day!!
A jolly good atmosphere in our house this week!
We all enjoyed a lovely warm Easter weekend followed by a three day week (could get used to that) and now the lovely wedding tomorrow followed by another lovely long weekend to look forward to! Phew! Its actually quite hard work having more time off than Im used too! Well I use the term 'time off' quite loosely I love it when the boys are off school and always enjoy their hols as much as they do but orders dont stop coming in just because its out of term time (Thank goodness!) so it just means I do my work at very random times! Up extra early and to bed extra late! Lots of you will relate to this juggling act I know!!
Well. . . . on to my favourite topic of April - ROYAL WEDDDING!!
I tried to get the children involved in wedding fever last night by setting us all on making some vintage bunting!
It was a very nice way to spend an evening but it didnt manage to convert them into raving royalists :O(
BUT I do love the bunting and it is now in position in our dinning room in preparation for tomorrow :O)
I have also made a few little extra 'patriotic themed' touches and have ramdomly distributed around our house! Hubby, who is not sharing in my delight of all things royal/wedding, will be thrilled to keep stumbling across an aray of red, white and blue this weekend :O) !!
I think a couple of these little hearts hanging from the rear view mirror in his van will look lovely ;O) . . . .
Enjoy Your weekend everyone!! Off now to the post office, tesco and collect the boys from school :O) then. . . . it is officially the weekend for the Wisbys :O) XXXX

If Carlesberg made tree houses. . . . !!
This blog post is dedicated to my clever hubby who is building the most fantastic tree house for our three lovelies :O)
Weve lived in our house for just over 3 years now, it has flown by and we are all very settled here. We havent got a huge garden, but its a nice size for the five us :O) and we all enjoy it (for one reason or another)!
Anyway down at the very bottom of the garden is a steep bank and on the bank lives a fantastic, very well established tree. The moment we moved in I could see the boys (Mr Poppyseed included!!!) eyeing it up. Talk of tree houses has dominated the tea table ever since!
Eventually plans were drawn up and last summer and work began. A jolly good start was made before work came to a stand still over the winter :O( BUT the recent sunny spell has meant a fresh burst of enthusiasm from hubby and the boys (yay) and tools have once again been picked up and its looking absolutely fab!!
I know strictly speaking its not actually IN the tree, but it is right next door and it will eventually be linked to the tree by a bridge! So I think it qualifies for 'Tree House Status'!!
There is still a fair way to go with it but everyone is enjoying 'helping', even Poppys had her hand in.

April Already!!
Wow where did March go to ??!! Cant believe we are into April!!
I am though, very excited about April. I have to admit I love Easter time and a good family gathering. But then ofcourse Royal wedding fever will well and truely hit the Poppyseed Household (Avid Royal Fan, much excitement!!). Yes I am determined even Mr Poppyseed (Ooo he loves being called that!!) will enter into the spirit and if not may be dragged kicking and screaming into the garden to hang my patriotic bunting!! Ive already spotted some fantastic handmade red, white and blue items from fellow crafters on facebook so its only a matter of time before I can no longer resist and purchase!
The run up to Mothers day was a really busy time in the Poppyseed World. Long days and extra chilcare help from Nanny (thank you Nanny, much appreciated!) Always such a lovely feeling to think lots of Mummys, Nannys, and Grandmas received a Poppyseed gift on Mothers day :O) Hope all you Mums had a Fabulous Day!! A lovely day was had here :O) and I am happy to say lots of spoiling went on and was lovely to share the day with both Mum and Mum in law. XX

Woohoo, this is my first ever blog post!!!!!!!!! Welcome! XX
Welcome to the Poppyseed Crafts Blog!!
I am thrilled to have this new addition to the Poppyseed 'family' (another new years resolution ticked off, better late than never!) and I hope that someone out there in the big wide internet world will find it interesting and want to follow our journey.
Poppyseed Crafts was started almost accidently really, after our daughter Poppy (now 2 and a half)was born. I began making lots of pretty bits for her nursery (having a girl after two boys, you do find yourself going a little bit 'pretty, pink crazy') I got really into it and after a little twist of my arm and a confidence boost from my husband, Sean and friends I began selling my creations on ebay.
That was two years ago now and I am thrilled (and very proud) of how much Poppyseeds has grown in this relatively short space of time. I no longer work from a corner of my dining room table (MUCH to Seans delight!). I work from 'The poppyseed studio' (aka the converted garage), this was a huge step forward, and I must say at times felt rather daunting and a bit too grown up! But it allowed me to expand, stock and offer a much broader range of delights and get really creative! Its my favourite room of the house, and the childrens (and not an xbox in sight!) its bursting with fun and quirkiness and is a joy to work in. (I'll take some pics for you later and you can share my lovely workspace)!
I plan to write here as often as I can and hope to share with you my Poppyseed journey, my hopes and dreams, the constant juggling (not always succesfully) of family/work life and hopefully we'll have a laugh along the way (things are very rarely drama free in this house for long)!
Thought you might want to see 'The face behind the Business'! A christmas snap shot of the Poppyseed family!! I have a smile whenever I look at this one, Poppy, only two and is the only one sensible enough to remember to remove paper hat before having pic taken! Well done Pop!
Well on that note I guess Id better crack on with my orders before its time to down tools again and dash off on what, today will be, a rather chilly school run! Brrrrrrrrrr! :O)
Untill next time folks :O)
